#20 | Results from 17th February

Here are the results from yesterday’s Mobilise Moments poll.

New to caring or old hand?

Yesterday we asked: Have you become a carer since the start of the 1st lockdown in March 2020?

Graph showing the results to the question Since the pandemic started have your digital skills improved? 50% said yes and only 2% said no

The results to yesterday's poll reflect the current community of us completing Mobilise Moments.

One thing we ponder regularly at Mobilise HQ is, how do we communicate with people who may not identify as an unpaid carer, but who demonstrate all the hallmarks of the role. "Looking after someone you love", for example, can mean a whole range of things. Dependent on the context.

We're keen to support the whole rainbow of unpaid carers, from those that are caring 24/7 through to someone who has taken on a new role, maybe checking in on someone. We've got a great article on why its good to be visible as a carer and also a thought provoking piece from our co-founder Kyro on the complexities of the word Carer! If you know someone who is providing unpaid care to another person, and who might benefit from joining our community and contributing to our shared voice, please point them in our direction. Signing up to our Facebook Group is a great start.

Get support in your caring role, contact your local carer centre. Find out who is closest using this nifty tool from the Carers Trust.
