#44 | Results from 13th March
Here are the results from yesterday’s Mobilise Moments poll.
The Care Act 2014
Yesterday, we asked "Do you know and understand your rights to support under the Care Act 2014?"
Yesterday's results showed that we don't rate the support we receive from Local Authorities very highly at all. 55.5% of us rated their support under a three. This means they are receiving no support or very little support. This was mirrored in our Facebook Group where almost no-one had examples of good or great service from a Local Authority.
So yesterday we explored our understanding of the law that underpins carer's rights in the UK. The Care Act 2014. 36.4% of us have a very good or partial understanding of our rights to support in this legislation. But a further 63.6% are not sure or don't have an understanding.
To help with this, Jill from Camden Carers Centre has written an article about "Carers rights and the law". It covers whether you have to be a carer, your entitlement to support, carers assessments and how to assert your rights. There is also a section on the rights for parent-carers, which are slightly different. We strongly recommend everyone reads this article.
Notes: Mobilise is funded, in part, by Local Authorities to provide online carer support.
