Yesterday we asked: How often do you leave the house?
78% of us don't leave the house every day. This is a very large number, even considering that some of us may be still shielding. Leaving the house can have many benefits beyond just a change in scenery. There are the benefits of movement and exercise but far beyond that studies have shown that our mental health can also suffer too.
So what can we do if we can't leave the house daily? For starters, keep communicating with people, whether by phone, video call or even a quick text message - you're welcome to join one of our online cuppas too.
If we're worried about movement there are tons of things for us to find on youtube from pilates, yoga and qigong to martial arts and exercise classes. Find something you think you will enjoy and take it from there!
Another real benefit many of us find of leaving the home is just being in nature. And whether we can get out and about or we spend most of our time at home - our tips on things you can do to keep in touch nature have suggestions whatever your circumstances.
