Laura Martin

Hello. I’m currently covering Nikki’s maternity leave as Content and Engagement Manager at Mobilise, and I’m really excited to be here. My route into communications wasn’t a straight line - I studied languages at Durham University, then worked as a content creator for many years in both permanent roles and as a freelancer. I found my way to Mumsnet as a content writer then Newsletters Editor, a role I stayed in for almost five years, giving me lots of experience communicating with busy, real-life people who are juggling a lot, (also my own area of expertise!)

While I’m not a carer myself, I am a single mum to a 16-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son, who between them keep life very full and very loud. I understand how relentless caring responsibilities can be and I’m really happy to be able to use my skills and experience to support the incredible community of unpaid carers in the UK.
