Nicky Hyde

Partnerships Manager, London, SE, Scotland and NI

"Hi there! I joined Mobilise in August 2022 and my role as Partnerships Manager for London, SE, Scotland and NI is to support the local authorities that we work with, to build lasting relationships and guide them on their Mobilise journey. I also look at new ways of engagement with local authorities and how Mobilise can support them with their internal journey of procurement.

I am also a carer. It's in my blood, my passion to help others is infectious, so I am told. Life throws us many curve balls; it's how we stop them from hitting us. My aim is for carers' voices to be heard, to be respected, listened to, simplifying services and to offer choice.

Mobilise is a brilliant organisation that is offering a new way for carers to access services in a timeframe that suits them, anytime, anyplace, anywhere.

I have had three carers roles to date that have encountered Parkinson's Disease, Vascular Dementia, Stokes, Bowel and Liver Cancer and I currently care for my beloved Mum who has COPD amongst other illnesses.

I lost my husband to Bowel Cancer, I was devastated, he was only 37 and after he died to help me on my grieving journey, I dedicated 7 years to supporting Bowel Cancer UK, an amazing charity, where I helped young people coming to terms with living with a terminal diagnosis or their families. I am very passionate about the #nevertooyoung programme and will always support those living with bowel cancer.

When I am not working or caring you will find me eating my way around the world, watching Masterchef or James Martin for inspiration (he is my TV hubby), planning my next interior design project, looking at or talking about dogs, listening to music (I used to DJ) and dancing (oh how I love to dance)."

My mantra is “one life, live it”
